Does Anyone Know What It Means to Be a Nurse Practitioner?

The main and the primary point of being a Nurse Practitioner is to provide care to patients who are suffering from some type of ailment. In fact, that's practically the responsibility of every health care worker. These jobs are meant for the passionate men and women who aren't just working for the paycheck and the benefits, there are many people who actually have passion and do this because they get a proud and fulfilling feeling to help those who are suffering. Its noble. A practitioner can decide to specialize in women's health care, neonatal health care, pediatric health care, family health care, geriatric health care, acute adult care, and there are many other specialties but these are the most common that are chosen.



Normally nurses are certified by a national board such as the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and are also licensed by the particular state in which they choose to practice. Practitioners are able to administer a wide variety of health care services to any patient regardless of his or her age. As a result a practitioner can act as the health care provider of a patient.



You must know how to interpret the results of the diagnostic tests such as ECG, EKG, lab test, and x-rays. Know how to do the documentation for each patient's physical findings.



Can efficiently work with the doctors and other health care professionals in order to give a thorough health care plan for all the patients especially those who need it the most.



Provide referral to patients of medical practitioners for consultation or specialized health treatment.Provide family planning and prenatal care services. Jobs are normally available at health centres, community clinics, hospital clinics, hospitals, nursing homes, health departments, nursing schools, physician offices, private offices, public health departments, walk-in clinics, veteran administration facilities, college/school clinics, public health departments, physician offices, nursing practitioner offices and health maintenance organizations. Nurse practitioner jobs may even include an independent practice in states where this is permitted.



It's a fulfilling and rewarding career that will test you, what job doesn't do that?



The jobs of a registered nurse are not only limited within the walls of the hospitals and other health care facilities. They can also do their duties in nursing schools, community clinics, and even in health centers too.
